Production
From an award-winning wine producer, this cider is unadulterated and true to its English roots and heritage. Produced with 100% apples, but a wine by any other name, that delivers the orchard’s terroir in the bottle (to use a wine term) using the method most suited to the apple varieties used. The label reflects the human relationship to the species that live in orchards, in the earth, and in the trees, with the ‘King of the Orchard’ their guardian. The King displays a crown made out of green woodpeckers and a solitary bumblebee whilst, woven into the King’s hair, are the lichens and moss that grow in old orchards. The necklace he wears is the skull of a fox which alludes to the ‘fox whelp’ apple variety.

Tasting notes
Made from 75% Dabinett and 25% Spartan apples fermented and matured in bourbon barrels and Burgundian French oak and then put into bottle unfiltered for a secondary fermentation. After ageing on the lees the cider is riddled and disgorged with no dosage added before closing with cork and wine which maintains its overall dry characteristics with a bourbon and cooked apple aroma and taste.
Food match
To be enjoyed in a flute glass to display the fine mousse of minute bubbles that help enhance the flavours. Pairs wonderfully with roasted vegetables or roast pork and crackling, pork belly, roasted and barbecued chicken and sausages. Also goes well with flavourful East Asian food.
