Production

This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Pinot Noir. Only first-class grapes were harvested for this wonderfully balanced, pure wine from Rudolf Fürst. In Franconia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on sandstone soils. The Bürgstadter Berg Pinot Noir 1st Location is an Old World wine through and through, because this German wine breathes an extraordinary European charm, which clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly sent to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by maturation for a few months in French oak barrels.

  • Tasting notes

The first nose of the Bürgstadter Berg Spätburgunder 1st location reveals notes of sour cherries and raspberries. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging and even more fruity-balsamic nuances.

On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully dense. The finale of this well-ripening red wine from the Franconian wine-growing region finally impresses with a remarkable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the sandstone-dominated soils.

  • Food match

This German wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It goes perfectly as an accompanying wine with braised chicken in red wine, osso buco or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
