Production

This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Riesling. Only first-class grapes were used for this wonderfully elegant, single-variety wine from Weingut Dönnhoff. The Niederhäuser Klamm Riesling Kabinett is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, because this German wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The fact that the Riesling grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a very high influence on the ripeness of the harvested material. This is expressed, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and a rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully ground. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by maturation for a few months in French oak barrels.

  • Tasting notes

The Niederhäuser Klamm Riesling Kabinett from Weingut Dönnhoff von der Nahe presents a brilliant, light yellow color in the tilted glass. If you give it a little air in the glass by swirling it, this white wine is characterized by a wonderful lightness that makes it dance lively in the glass. In the glass, this white wine from Weingut Dönnhoff presents aromas of lemons and peaches, complemented by minerals. This wine impresses with its elegant, dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in this price range, this German wine naturally delights with the finest balance despite all the dryness. Flavoring does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this light-footed white wine is wonderfully light.
